HELLO!

I’m Jose Franca, an experienced learning and organisational development consultant, facilitator, trainer and coach.

I launched Jose Franca Consulting in October 2019 and have been working as an independent consultant since. Prior to that I spent over 20 years working in people and organisational development roles for large multinational organisations across a range of sectors and regions.

I work directly with my own clients and also as an associate consultant, facilitator and coach for a small number of specialist development consultancies.

Currently I’m working at CooperVision, leading the EMEA Learning & Development Team and supporting the organisation with Organisational and Employee Development initiatives.

MY BACKGROUND

I started my career in sales and programme management for various training consultancies, managing client relationships and training projects for clients across Western and Southern Europe. In 2007 I moved in-house and joined Chevron’s Global Workforce Development Team in London as a Training Consultant to support their business and operations across the EAMEE region.

Since then, I have held a number of mid-senior level learning and organisational development roles at Subsea 7, Chevron North Sea, Discovery Networks and The Walt Disney Company UK & Ireland. In my last corporate role I led the Learning and Development function for Edelman across EMEA.

MY EXPERIENCE 

As well as leading and managing L&D functions across the UK and EMEA, setting the learning strategy and providing thought leadership to the organisation, I consulted, designed and facilitated various development programmes and interventions – from team sessions and coaching to management and leadership development programmes.

Additionally, I worked on various organisational development and change initiatives focusing on culture and behaviour change; post-merger integration and culture; rolled out performance management processes; graduate recruitment schemes; implemented and lead high potential development and mentoring programmes and worked on D&I initiatives.

I have worked in over 18 countries, supported operations in many more and my sector experience includes Oil & Gas/Energy, Engineering, TV/Media/Broadcast, On-Line Grocery Retail, Medial Devices, Entertainment and PR/Creative/Communications. Organisations include: Chevron, Subsea7, Discovery Networks, The Walt Disney Company, Edelman and Ocado Retail.

MY QUALIFICATION & TRAINING

I trained as a Language Teacher at Goldsmiths College, completed the OD Practitioners Programme at Roffey Park, and in 2016 completed a Masters of Science (MSc) in People and Organisational Development (Roffey Park/University of Sussex) with a focus on Collaboration and Collaborative Practice. Throughout my career I trained as a 360 feedback coach and got accredited on various programmes, tools, assessment and psychometrics (DiSC, Insights, Thomas International, Lumina Spark and Hogan). I am also a trained Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England).

I’m a native Portuguese speaker and can also converse in Spanish, French and Italian.
